My car is making a squealing noise when I brake - is it urgent?

High-pitched squeal when braking, especially at low speeds in parking lots. Brakes still feel fine, no grinding, pedal is firm. 2021 CR-V with 60,000 km. Can it wait until next oil change in 2 months?

Squealing is usually the wear indicator - a metal tab touching the rotor when pads get low. At 60,000 km on a CR-V, you're right in the window for front pads thinning. Don't panic and tow it, but don't wait 2 months. Get it checked within a week or two. If squeal becomes grinding (metal on metal), you'll need rotors too, doubling the cost.

Could also be glazed pads or small rock between pad and rotor. Both harmless but annoying. Either way, get it checked soon. Brake inspections are usually free at chain shops.
